Does anyone have a list of recommended frequencies for Brown County and the surrounding area? I've been adding and removing for a few weeks now trying to figure out what is active. I took the approach of adding a ton of stuff when I got the scanner but that left me with slow scans and a lot of dead air. I haven't really heard any digital traffic on the WISCOM groups i have loaded.

I've mostly been listing to county sheriff, GB and De Pere police, and local EMS. I'm using a PSR800 and would be interested in others scanlists from the area.

I work in south De Pere and live in Suamico which are where I do most of my listening.

You might want to check here >> Brown County, Wisconsin (WI) Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference

Then if that don't help try the Wisconsin Forum.

I posted in GRE instead of regional by accident. I asked a mod to move it right after I posted.

Too much clicking around I guess, sorry.

Anyone in the area like to share their frequency lists?

About all I listen to is

154.740 Sheriff
154.370 Fire Dispatch
154.130 Brown County fire ground
159.000 Bellevue Fire Ground
154.040 EMS Dispatch
153.110 County Rescue Admin
154.400 De Pere Fire repeater

and the GB City trunked 800 system.

This should get you a good portion of active public safety freqs. De Pere police is also a separate freq but I never listen to them.

Just remember, almost all of these will be changing as Brown County will be switching to a new radio system hopefully by summer.

Thanks for the info. Honestly I hadn't heard of SIREN. I'm just getting back into scanning and thought WISCOM was what everyone was going to use.

Anyone know if there are plans for encryption when they make the switch?

The system of course will be available for encryption but from everything that I have been hearing only certain talk groups will be encrypted. If you do buy a scanner capable of listening to the new system you should have plenty of good traffic to listen to.
