Is anyone monitoring the brush fire happening now?

I'm hearing it on DEP Fire North, but I feel like I'm only hearing 80% of the conversation.

Is there another talk group I should be listening to? NJICS

Most of the fireground is on VHF simplex. Unless you're close, you won't hear anything. Mostly just management on the 700. Plus they said one of the VHF repeaters isn't working good on one side of the mountian.

Yesterday late afternoon, the North talkgroup was busy with chatter very similar to what VHF DEP 8A typically sounds like. Maybe they used 700 because of a repeater issue like mentioned above. This afternoon for a little bit, I was within range of VHF 7A and there was a lot of activity on it. Currently not hearing a peep on North TG.

Correction: meant to say the 700 north talk group sounded similar VHF DEP 8 Div B (or any division repeater channel) would sound during an active fire. I wrote 8A by mistake.
