BTC15X Interface Cable

About to order one of these on Amazon.
I will be using FreeScan to program it.
I see it comes with only a serial interface cable.
Question:
Will it work best with the stock serial cable & usb/serial adapter or with a single USB-1 as in link below.

There should be no real difference in using the USB-1 cable, as opposed to the original serial cable and a USB/serial converter. Any differences should be minimal, as the USB-1 has a USB to serial converter in it.

The single cable seems to cost around the same as the adaptor, so may be tidier to go that way.
