I'm in the process of saving up for a digital TRS scanner such as the Uniden bc396t. In the mean time, I am trying to put together a list of what I want to monitor. The thing is I live in Berlin, NJ. Just out of curiosity, do you think I would be able to pick up the TRS systems in bucks and/or Montgomery county? Okay, how about Philadelphia?

All three might be difficult to pick up that deep in Camden County. Bucks is a slight possibility, Montgomery County is very doubtful, and Philly's signal, from what I understand doesn't come in at all once you get past the Voorhees/Cherry Hill areas (though I sure someone from South Jersey will clarify further).

On the flip side, you should be able to get Burlington County and NJSP (once they go digital), so that 396 won't entirely be a waste. Plus, it tracks the Camden City and Cherry Hill Twp EDACS systems better than the RS scanners.

Nursepen, where in Camden County do you live? I tried punching in the Montgomery County TRS on my conventional scanner. It worked! I was hearing analog voice. Got it all the way from the border of Chester/Berks/Lancaster County area on the PA Turnpike, to just north of the Berlin circle on Rte 73 in Berlin, NJ. Once past the circle, I lost it completely and cant get it at home. But all this was done on my stock antenna which came with the radio! I still dont know about Bucks and Philadelphia, though. Just curious how far out those freqs can be heard.
