Buffalo PD digital question

Is there a control channel for the P25 system? Do you hear digital noise from any of the channels listed? I can hear Niagara and Erie stuff from my loc. but not the Buffalo pd stuff. I put the freq's into an analog scanner just to see if I can hear the digital noise, but notta! What might I be doing wrong? Thanks for the time.

Buffalo PD has the same frequencies, they just went to P25 conventional on those channels. The digital noise your hearing is the P25 transmissions.

Judging from the database, they are conventional P25, not trunked. Therefore there would only be activity on the channel when someone was talking (or passing data, if it is configured for such).

Conventional P25 do not transmit a fulltime channel the way a trunked P25 system transmits a continuous control channel.

No scanner can monitor MOTOTRBO by itself but it can be monitored with DSD.
