The problem with the universal kit is that it is a lot of wires strung about. In the amateur radio world GPS is either being built in or a small device added to the radio.

Could there be a slot on the top of the radio for the GPS? Especially the SD100 HT? That way when out of the vehicle or home the radio can up date?

I do a mod to install GPS in the SDS100 and other scanners, but it's not officially sanctioned by Uniden. It would be better if it was built in at the factory.

Why would you need to update your location in your home when you left your vehicle? Unless you park miles away that serves no useful purpose. Same for out of the vehicle, unless a long hike.

The radio will stay on it's last known location so nothing gained by updating the location.

I only hook up GPS to the 436 or SDS100 on trips. Eventually, I will avail Jon of his talents and get the permanent install on both.
