Does anyone what Station 159 is? Something with the County. EMS dispatches are going to station 809, EMS 201, possibly a medic unit and station 159. 159 is new. Thanks in advance.
I believe 15-9 is designated for the county courthouse security in Mt Holly. So what they'll do is dispatch station 15-9 for courthouse first responder then dispatch 50-9 for BLS transport.
Sta 159 units are Virtua Paramedics, however they still use the Medic XX designation on the radio. Medic 3X units are stationed in Burlington Co, Medic 4X units are from Camden Co. Sta 359 is the County Courthouse first responder unit. Dist 15 is Burlington County, Dist 35 is the County Sheriff.
MEDCOM handles the dispatch of the paramedic units in Burlington and Camden counties. They are part of the Virtua Health System, the same as the paramedic units. MEDCOM is located in Mt. Laurel. The counties call MEDCOM or conference call the initial call, who in turn call the ALS units via cell phone. Burlington announces on the dispatch with Sta. 159 so the local BLS unit knows an ALS unit is dispatched. MEDCOM determines which unit is to respond. MEDCOM does have the capability of operating on both counties trunked systems.
Since we are on the topic of Burlington co. If Maple Shade is that busy of a town they should get their own channel like Willingboro. It's usually all Maple Shade 24/7. Liked It better when it was just Cinnaminson, Palmyra, Riverton.
Check the Burlington County database for the OPS channels. These are simplex analog. 154.280 PL 127.3 was their local channel when they were on VHF. They probably have the VHF radios still installed.
Station 159 is dispatch name from the "Fire" desk for county medics. The actual medic unit(s) being dispatched can be heard on Talk Group 22736, CW Medic, Paramedic Operations
