Hello. There has been a lot of talk lately about how within the next year or so, Burlington County may be moving to a digital paging system. Anyone heard any news?

I don't think it will occur within the next year, but they have been doing some preliminary discussions at the county level.

Digital, as in alpha pagers that spell out the entire info about the run - not digital voice...

Thats what I was thinking he meant. Like a alpha numeric Motorola Advisor. Some agencies use them for alerting.

Lehigh County used to do that. It was annoying because they don't use any PL on the paging channel and then paging data would come across the frequency. Then one day the digital paging just disappeared, never to be seen since.

Monroe county does this. Boy is that annoying.

So, they will be adding this not replacing voice dispatch?
