In order to setup the trunking part for burlington county, do I have to set it up by the frequency table or can I set it up like the state police? Any feedback would be much appreciated.
1. Set Type as MOT using pulldown.
2. Enter the Controls (red and blue freqs) of the desired site or sites and set Rx Mode of each to MOT.
3. Click in the Multi Table bullet under the MOT 3600 CC section (9600 can be checked but not necessary to do so).
4. Click the now ungrayed Extended Table bar.
5. Enter the data for Identifier 00, 01 and 02 as follows:
00=380 529 500.3250 380 12.5
01=530 558 502.4250 530 12.5
02=559 759 506.4750 559 12.5
Identifier 03, 04 and 05 will be ignored so can be left as whatever default is in them.
6. Click OK.
7. Enter desired 5 digit DEC ID's and associated alpha tags in talkgroup section on right
Ok Thanks Frank. I am doing it all now as we speak. I have one last ? for you. I am programing burlington county and there are alot of frequencies. Why only use the red and blue frequencies? What are the other frequencies for?
The 96 is a Control Channel (CC) only scanner for all Motorola and P25 trunking systems. The duty CC has all frequencies assigned to the system and it will match a talkgroup to an available voice channel (VC) when the user keys the mike.
The blacks are voice channels and some red and blue may also be used for voice when not on CC duty. Only one freq is CC on each site at any given time. Some Motorola systems rotate the CC duties each day. And of course, in case one goes down, you need to make sure all blues and reds are programmed.
Line 2 of the display will indicate the frequency being used for voice traffic and the letters VC will be on its left during coms.
Ok thanks Frank for all the info. I have been programing all the frequencies when it comes to trunking. Cherry Hill,Philadelphia,Camden City,State Police A. Guess I didn't need tham all. Kinda confusing to me. Im a rookie. LOL Thanks again
The scanner goes right past (ignores) any frequency you may have programmed as MOT except the current Motorola CC and the scanner only uses it to collect all decoded activity of the system. Instead, it finds the same frequencies during this collection of decoded activity. The system administrator in Burlington Co codes the frequency list into the system. The black frequencies you see in the DB are collected by "us" users via decoding software while latched on a CC of a system.
This does not apply to EDACS trunking, it requires all frequencies for the tower and they must be in specific Logical Channel Number (LCN).
how about the bc246t - i know you only need control channels but has anyone used the arc246t software for programming and if so, can someone guide me how to do it?????
