where can i find business freqs ?

Your best bet is to search the fcc web site if what you seek is not listed here on RR.

Business freqs can be tough to search out for various reasons - like not always being
listed in the same name as the business or being listed in another county or state.

Also - if you know they use vehicles with two way radio close call or a freq counters
comes in handy for this task.

If you are persistant you will find it. I have one I have been looking for for about a year
and still no luck.

Note also that many businesses these days use Nextel, or trunked common carrier communications, which do not license the individual users, so there are no FCC records at all of the individual business.

In those cases, only using close call/freq counters near the users can find the frequencies, to give you enough info to trace down the licenses.

For businesses in your local area (within 4 miles), you might try this website, which will list users and location of all FCC licensed stations/antenna sites within that range:

I'll second the use of antenna search. It's very helpful because the radio user may not actually be the licensee. (As some users hire communications firms to handle licensing, repeater installation, etc.)

Is there any way to increase the search distance from 4 miles to say, 20 miles?
