Untill just this afternoon, I never heard of a utility mentioning a talkaround, but apparently they use it in a simular manner to DPS usage. Anyone else ever notice utilities/business use of talkarounds?

Radio users of all types have been using "Talk-Around" since repeaters first came became porpular.

Hmm, before that they just used "Simplex".

As was said above, TA is just as common in B&I as it is for PS. In my area, it's just about equally as common in use, too. In fact, I would have to say that most B&I users have it even if they don't use it. Look at the licenses - look for frequencies with an FB2, FB4, or FB6 (repeaters), and note if there is a separate line with X number of mobiles on the output frequency. If there is, this is Talk Around.
