So I took a few pics tonight to show some of the activity around CYYZ,

Then I zoomed in so you can see all 3 airports, CYYZ, Toronto Island and Downsview.

Between 6 and 7 every night you get alot of international departures.

Here you can see several approaches, Runway 23 and 24R and one departure off 24L

There are also a few ground returns coming back from the gates.

Hi Foe, yes it does support it. There are 2 modes.....Mode-S and ADS-B
Both show up, however only ADS-B aircraft are plotted on the screen, Mode-S show up in my aircraft list, but do not give off their position.

I see alot of military traffic throughout the day, but only in the aircraft list, not actually plotted on the screen as they do not give off their position. I see C130's out of niagara falls all the time, C5 Galaxy's, KC-135's etc. No figthers or other military jets however...

Wait... Foe... What new transponder mode are you talking about ?

Mode 5
Mode 5 – provides a cryptographically secured version of Mode S and ADS-B GPS position. (military only). Mode 5 is divided into two levels. Both are crypto-secure with Enhanced encryption, Spread Spectrum Modulation, and Time of Day Authentication. Level 1 is similar to Mode 4 information but enhanced with an Aircraft Unique PIN. Level 2 is the same as Mode 5 level one but includes additional information such as Aircraft Position and Other Attributes.

Do a google search for "mode 5 transponder".
I don't know if any of the military aircraft equipped with Mode-5 transponder yet.

The one we are talking about on this thread is Mode-S / ADS-B on 1090MHz.

Mode S – provides multiple information formats to a selective interrogation. Each aircraft is assigned a fixed 24-bit address. (military and civilian)
