I was inspired by sglass to start a thread on messy desks. I know that mine is not that bad at the moment but it will build back up. Usaully a bimonthly organizing helps. That was last week so, gimmie a few weeks.

Ok guys. Lets see em.

Oh how times have changed

I'm almost too ahsamed to show this.... but you've seen my new setup and I don't keep shop like this anymore!

This picture is from 6 years ago when my monitoring station doubled as a computer repair workbench. Living in a small trailer, there wasn't a whole lot of room. Someone (my then wife) took a picture of this for why I don't know and I found it on her computer after she passed. There's some old Motorola Mostars up on top and an old Realistic SSB cb in there with several other scanners inscluding my crown jewel BC-8500XLT. That was a bad mofo of a scanner back in the day.

I'm sure someone can beat my mess of a desk

Busy Shack

Maybe your shack would not be so "BUSY" if you didn't have * plants growing on your desk ! JUST KIDDING!!!!
*By the way, I THINK I remember having plants all over my Busy Shack back in the 1970's.....................................

lol. Looking at the picture again I guess I did not realize the one plant looks similar to another well known plant. The funy thing is it's a money tree.........

Cable Management Issues

Jim, Jason-

As long as we're opening our kimonos... I don't have the busiest shack, but I've definitely got a real rat's nest when it comes to my cables...

Best,

Good idea... I think I might still have the wood-grained "back" that came with the desk.

And you're right--I don't dare move that desk away from the wall... that container of Locktite isn't just there for show :)

Actually the router doesn't cause any problems with the scanners at all... I have to be more careful with the Kenwood, though. It seems more prone to RF interference when it's too close to another scanner.

It may be miller, but you can't blame the guy for NOT wasting beer no matter what brand it is :)
