Butel software for 996 and 996XT

I have a Uniden 996 and just purchased a 996xt. Can i use the same ARC software, or do I need an upgrade?

The software for the XT series of scanners is different. ARCXT will work with the 996XT, 396XT, BC346XT, and BC15X. You can import files from ARC996 though.

Or you can just use Freescan which will work with both
the 996t and 996XT. You will also be able to import Butel
files into Freescan.

2 different programs . the free scan programs as mentioned are free and support more than one model.
