Anyone in or near Butler County able to receive any of the cab services activity? Database says it's LTR. 800mhz. I've tried programming Battles in my Uniden SDS200 but so far, I haven't received a single thing I used Sentinel to program with but don't know much about programming these newer scanners/systems. Thanks! :)

Make sure you select transportation and business in your service types or you won’t get any of the cab radio traffic.

As an example friend couldn’t hear channel 3 for a local PD. Database listed channel 3 as a TAC channel. TAC channels were not selected in the service types. He turned on TAC channels in Service Types and started hearing channel 3.

Also good idea to check the range setting. If you programmed using zip code or other quick programming feature the actual transmitter might be outside that distance. I’d set the range to 25 mile plus till I located the cab service. You can always switch to a different range setting.

I had to enable transportation and business then wrote to scanner again and I still don't receive anything I used Sentinel to program with and enabled transportation and business in Sentinel before I wrote to scanner again I might be out of range but, I do see the cab cars in town about 12-15 miles away from me using a Radio Shack Discone about 30 ft. in the air. :)

Are these cabs on conventional VHF or a trunked system. If they are conventional might check to see if they are digital like NXDN, P25, DMR (trunked?) or analog. The only other thing I can think of is the range setting. There are so many cell phone apps or Nextel direct connect they might handle most of their traffic by text messages or means other than 2 way radio..
