I am looking to buy a Larsen NMO-800 to use in Tulsa. Does anyone know where I can get one locally or a good website to find one.

Thanks

If you don't find anything else try Waltel out of Texas at http://shop.waltel.com/catalog/

I don't belive he carry's Larsen, but he does have a pretty good selection of other 800 mobile antennas.

I do have a used NMO-800 Larsen sitting here on my shelf...

Hope this helps.

Why do you have one sitting on your shelf, did you find something better.

Thanks

Next to a scanner...
Most of Waltel's antennas are Antenex brand. I think they work very well, and are the right price. I have quite a few of them (1/4-wave VHF, VHF, 5/8-wave 800 and 900). They also have the phantom antennas (pretty cool if you're going for low-profile).

Thanks for everyone’s response. I have been using a RS multi-band antenna for the past several years but it has pretty much died. I only used my scanner to monitor EMSA when they were on 463.100 but now that they have gone 800, my scanner just sits there. I am going to try and monitor TFD main side because they get sent on the majority of EMSA calls.

I just wanted to buy a good 800 antenna that would allow me to monitor other bands as well. I think the Phantom would look really cool, but being so small I don’t know if I could pick anything up other than 800. The reason that I picked the NMO 800 was based on some reviews that I saw on here, and the fact that it not only did very good on 800 but other bands as well.

PS
I am still trying to come up with a way to present to EMSA that they need to either simulcast their main dispatch channel on 463.100 or make it non-encrypted analog on 800. It really sucks when they went digital and encrypted.

I have been to his shop before but it was for CB stuff. I didn't know that he carried scanner antenna's. It has been several years and I guess I figured he was no longer in business. It seems like it was in the area of 8500 E 31 Pl.

thanks
