buying a new scanner

hey everyone

have a question i live in oklahoma city which is going to a edas pro voice system i know that it cannot be picked up yet but am need of a new scanner which would be my best bet the pro 94 the pro 95 or the pro 2052 i could pickup other agencies and have heard i could hear okc on thier edacs system unless they scrambled their system any light you all could shed on the subject would be appreciated i have scanners right now none of which are capable of picking up truncked systems i just want to get the best radio for my money i like the pro 96 but to much for my budget any suggestions?????????

For portable the 94 is pretty good, as it can roll both Analog Motorola, and Analog EDACS, trunk track, and scan conventional. The 95 adds the aplha tagging so you can see the "name" of the agencies that you tag as it scans. Both of these portables have 1000 chans, and are nice scanners. The 2052 is the mobile/base version of the 94, and adds the mil air capability, but unlike the 94, you can not trunk track and scan conventional at the same time. The 2052 is PC controllable.

To add to milf's comments, consider that the Pro-94 is not computer programable but the 95 is. This may not seem important at first, but as you start to change things around, you will find it a valuable asset.

Yes PC control can be a handy tool.... Just remember to learn to do it all manually so you KNOW your scanner then have fun and go wild!

Not PC control, but PC Programmable. Big difference, kind of wish I had a PC Controlable one, but alas, I am without.

my bad... that was one thing I liked about the PRO-2052, it was fully PC interfaceable and the software came on the Police Call CD-ROM.
