Has anyone done business with Ham Radio Outlet? I am thinking about buying a scanner
from them, and wanted honest reviews about them.'

I've bought a lot of stuff from HRO in Atlanta, never a problem.

I've never had any problems with HRO. They've always been very helpful.
If the HRO store you're dealing with doesn't have what you want in stock, they'll ship it to you from another HRO.

I agree with previous posters. I've bought a ton of gear from them from power supplies, to antennas, to radios. Never had a single problem. I live in CT, and usually whatever I order arrives the next day from their Salem, NH store even with UPS ground.

I bought an Austin Spectra antenna from them (a little less than $100) and was happy with their service.

I've bought from them MANY times. You can call one of the stores and order by phone, or order online. If you order online, it will select the closest (in stock) store to ship from (although closest may not be quickest in terms of UPS, but you can always ask for a different store if you know closest doesn't match up with the UPS zones).

Weighing in for HRO-I deal with the Oakland, Ca. store. I bought a ton of stuff there over the years and only one instance where they sold me the wrong filter but promptly returned my money without attitude or hesitation. So still a perfect record by me. IMO reasonable prices too.

Bought a PSR-500 from the NH store last year for an unbelievable pre-Chriistmas sale price of $309. Previously bought a PSR-600 and a Larsen Tri-Band antenna/mount from that same store. All transactions there enjoyable and without issue. I'm just a scanner guy (no HAM stuff), but I'm glad they have a store in my area and would recommend them without hesitation.

Ditto to ^^^^^^ and having bought from all three PHX locations in person. A constant throughout has been Gary, the store manager (was Asst. Mgr. when I first bought there in 1987-88) and he was just as nice this past January when I was in PHX for the Fiesta Bowl. I've also bought from the Denver store with phone and online orders with no problems.

Really, about any of the big dealerships that advertise in QST will take care of you. I've done business with most of them over the years.
