buying new scanner

am i to understand from reading another thread here that if i live in the denver area it's not worth buying another scanner for public safety monitoring as all public safety here is looking towards p25 encryption?

Most are already on P 25 as for encryption a new scanner will not help you.
Depends on what you monitor but it does appear most are heading the P 25 route but that does not automatically mean encryption.............

Buy yourself a new scanner and enjoy.... Just make sure it's p25 capable and esk capable (if you wish to listen to Denver).

Every dept in the Denver metro area is able to be monitored.

i have noticed in other area's when a major public safety agency encrypts you usually start seeing the smaller surrounding systems follow suit. the recent place(s) i have seen this is AL, PA and FLA.
