Buying/waiting for my BC 296D and have ???

:lol: I have finally ordered my BC296d from Scan Master and have a couple of questions concerning the Butel Arc250.

1. I am assuming that the usb cable comes with the scanner is there any other cable I need?

2. As I understand the biggest difference between the basic and pro is being able to control the scanner from the computer. Is this correct?

Butel has a comparison sheet on their page. They can both do "Virtual Control". The differences lie there. Below are the items that Pro can do, and Basic cannot.

Data logging / history
Harddisk Audio Recording
Search Range Extender
Auto Lockout/Resume for logging
Custom Fonts/colors in Virtual Control

BTW-My 785 didn't come with the cable. I don't see it listed as an included item anywhere either. You're probably going to have to go out and buy it.

The 296d comes with a serial cable but if your pc does not have serial ports you are out of luck. You will have to get a serial to USB connector and driver, which scannermaster does have.
