Does anyone know what frequency CAP is on? Are they on SouthernLinc? Here's a picture of their radio...

I was referring to the "City Action Partnership" patrols in Birmingham. Do you have them down there? If so, do you know the frequency. I'll give it a try.

the ant is on top of the building that has the message board on it

I've heard some VHF traffic in the past on their 149.xxx frequencies. They do shark patrols at dusk durring the summer and communicated to us at the PD on our frequency. When they got to Gulf Shores, they switched over to theirs. I guess up there, things may be different.

:lol: This post is a good example of why using abbreviations isn't always a good idea. To many people outside of B'Ham, C.A.P. is most commonly associated with "Civil Air Patrol" which is an Air Force auxilliary service. They use the 149 Mhz. freqs just above the ham band.
