I received a note that in December the State of California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) region III and its Department of Correctional Safety have entered into a 5-year agreement with LA County to utilize the County Wide Integrated Radio System (CWIRS) to conducting law enforcement, tactical, special event, and emergency business in LA County region.

As part of the agreement CDCR will be assigned talkgroups and be provided 24hr dispatch services by the LA County Sheriff department on CWIRS.

CDCR region III offices apparently consist of some 600 parole agents and peace offices that will be issued M/A Com 700 PI handhelds as part of the agreement.

If anyone figures out what TG's are being used by the CDCR please send them in!

They have been on CWIRS for at least 5 years, I think what you saw was a renewal of their contract. Previously they were dispatched by County Police/OPS. CDCR had their own talkgroups but would come up on the OPS talkgroups for info access, and backup/assistance requests.

Thanks for the added background info.

If CDCR has been on CWIRS these many years, any idea what their Talk Groups are? We don't show any in the Db.

They shared TG's with OPS. They can sometimes be heard on SCC Access or County L-Tac.

They actually did have their own group of talkgroups and would switch to the OPS TG's when needed. I will try to get a list of the current CDCR groups and post it.

Thank you. You can also PM me, or submit directly to the Db.

Looking through my notes, in the past I have noted detective/surveillance like activity on TG 12-154.

Always figured it was possibly DA related, but suppose it might be CDCR since the TG is not numerically close to the DA regular sequence of TG we show in the Db.

Be great however if anyone can indeed confirm the CDCR group TGs.
