SO, can anyone put together a GOOD list of Cal Expo PD, Security, etc... frequencies. Known to be used, and verified?
Give me a week or so. I'll be in Sac for a week for a class, and my hotel is about a block from Cal Expo. I'll run my 396 w/Scannerbase and do some logging.

Cal Expo PD

Yesterday when I was at Cal Expo (first responder day), to listen to the DOJ band Harlee and the Sugar daddies (yes some of the dept of justice employee are in a band).

Calexpo Police were using Parks Orange (855.7125) for their main channel, CH1.
Calexpo Police were using (859.7625) for their channel 2 mainy used for records checks.

Ch1 had lots of lost / found children, a few medical requests, spitting from chairs and/or monorail and traffic / crowd control and parking lot issues..

I could not find the AMR bike medic's frequency... but I didnt look that hard either.. probabily on a smr freq....

All in all it was a good day... Metro copter 1, Star 7? and Air 1 did a stop in and flyover as well

The official alpha-tag for those two channels are;

EXPO 1
EXPO 2

( displayed on their radios )

Spitting from Chairs and or monorail?? NICE! Maybe they should round up the monkeys and put them in a zoo. CAL EXPO is a toilet that should be flushed.

Hello benca; I wanted to be at the fair to see the helicopters. I had to be at an open house at the high school where I teach. Could you remember generally the times the choppers were at the fair. I record scanners and maybe I'll be able to at least hear some traffic. I'll go through the entire day anyway, but I could save some time. Thanks much for your cool report and any info you can give me about the helicopters.

Helos at Cal Expo

Indeed it would have been cool to see the helos live, but I got some good traffic. They came in at 0915. Firecopter 1 called dispatch at 0903 reporting position and status for the day. Good traffic between Copter 1 and Helitender 1 coordinating the LZ. Shortly after Air 1 and Star 7 came in squacking company traffic. Still going to have to look at the rest of the day. I sure wish I'd seen it. Maybe next year. Thanks for the heads up.

I'm in a hotel across the street from Cal Expo, and let the computer log all night last night.

453.800/458.800 PL 131.8 Cal Expo(Need Help to ID)
Sounds like staffing/administration. Some transportation of entertainers, various errands, etc. No unit numbers, just people calling each other by their first and last names. Also some scheduling information of entertainment. I'd feel pretty comfortable labeling it as "Administration/Entertainment"

453.975/458.975 PL 141.3 Cal Expo(Need Help To ID)
This sounds like maybe a trolley or a tram? All discussions involve making loops, picking people up, dropping people off, etc. I'd feel pretty comfortable labeling this one as "Transportation."

Police/security/parking are all correct as indicated previously by others.

I bet it's the monorail system.

More likely the collection of busses dropping people off at the main gate. Heard quite a bit of traffic throughout the afternoon/evening on Saturday, including calls about fluids leaking from one of them - definitely referenced a bus on this call.

The other 45x.xx pair did appear to be related to fair/expo operations, with several dicussions heard regarding performers at the various stage areas.

The transportation freq I referenced was definately WITHIN Cal Expo. References were made to places inside the fairgrounds, not outside. So if it was buses, they were operating within the venue, not out in the parking lots or the streets.
