who dispatches caernarvon twp, police and fire? Is it Chester, Berks, or Lancaster county?
benrussellpa said:I would imagine that TVFD also has lowband equipment for use in Berks and Lancaster, but I can't hear that from my home location. TVFD also covers New Morgan in Berks and Elverson, Warwick, and West Nantmeal in Chesco.
benrussellpa said:There are two Caernarvon Townships...one in Berks and one in Lancaster. They border each other and also both border Chester County.
Twin Valley FD (Chester Co. Sta 69) covers all of Caernarvon (Berks) and the eastern portion of Caernarvon (Lancaster). TVFD is dispatched by Chester Co. and operates on ChesCo's 800 system. They can be monitored on the VHF simulcast on 159.600.

Caernarvon (Berks) PD units identify as 32-xx on Berks police freqs.
PSP Ephrata covers Caernarvon (Lancaster). Ephrata and Lancaster Barracks both usually work off the OpenSky system.

ocguard said:So let me get this straight... this department (which is located in Chester County?? and is dispatched by Chester County) has it's first-due are in Berks and Lancaster Counties? Yeah, goofy I'd say.
benrussellpa said:No. If you go to their website and look at the coverage map, you will see that they cover portions of Chester, Berks, and Lancaster Counties.
ladder09 said:I need to update the map on the website too, we no longer have the large portion of Caernarvon Twp, Lancaster County (except for 2 streets) anymore. Churchtown (Lancaster County station 3-4) took that territory back, and run us as mutual aid in that area. If you look at the "windows live" version of our first due, that's a more accurate representation.
