Anyone know what common TAC and command channels CALFIRE MMU or USFS Sierra uses? I got their dispatch and main tac channels off the listing, just wondering if there are any others such as common air tacs, mutual aid, etc.

During most incidents, your best bet is to just listen to the radio traffic. CDF is usually very good at announcing assigned tacs by both name and frequency when they are assigned to an incident.

Yeah, but I'm programming a scanner to give my dad, and he's not very good with them. I know CDF SCU (my local unit) has assigned tacs & air tactics, just trying to see if MMU did too before I give it to him.

I don't know what scanner you're programming for him, but all of mine have 1000 channels in them. So why not just program ALL Cal Fire frequencies? That's what I've done so I am able to monitor no matter where I am in the state.

It's an OLD one, Radio Shack PRO-28 with only 30 channels, and with the stuff I know there's only 8 left open.

Calfire MMU is assigned the following channels:

Freq. Tone
Local - 151.460mhz 123.0hz
Command 1 - 151.355mhz 103.5hz
Command 2 - 151.265mhz 103.5hz
Command 4 - 151.400mhz 103.5hz
Tac 6 - 151.325mhz Open
Tac 7 - 151.340mhz Open
Tac 8 - 151.370mhz Open
Air Tactics 6 - 151.310mhz Open

Not to say that given a large incident, that they wont use other freq.'s as well.
As far as for SNF, I would just program the Region 5 tacs as listed in the RR below. I don't have any specific data for USFS

Good luck
