I'm catching activity from the Stampede grounds on the TAC Solutions Motorola system tonight. I'm trying to identify specific designations for each talkgroup but it's challenging as users switch channels all the time to talk to one another. Here are the active TG ID's I have so far...

6592
6640
6688
6704
6720
6736
6752
6816

From what I'm observing it appears that the existing TG's in the RR Database from the past are not being used anymore.

Happy scanning all!

If your hearing gate security and patdowns it's the user MacCon, they have 8 trunked talkgroups, and 8 simplex they use.

They also rent out the radios to other users like Folk Fest, and Cowboys

You will know by listening if they are using call signs like 1025 (Supervisor/ Manager) 1059, (Owner), and I think with new recruits they have numbers up to 13xx. If a person is new then they will be using names.

They also use the CPS 10 codes

I happen to be there last night ...
There was a lot of chatting on the radio ... but no a lot of professionalism.
Here are some of the ones that I heard chatter on:
16=Park
48=Ops
80
112
144=Grandstand
288
368
528
6592=Food Services
6640
6688
6704
6720=Security?
6736=Desk/Dispatch
6752=Tickets

Here's what I found on search ... None were confirmed:
272
336=Maintenance
624
672=Medical
704
720
752
864
449-3
6400
6528
6608=Grandstand
6624
6672=Grandstand Show
6784=Missing Kids
59440
59472
59552
59568
59584

Hopefully someone can fill in the blanks is you are at the Stampede the next few days.

I have heard things during the Stampede but most of what I have heard is less than interesting. Things such as "give me a call on the cell phone"; garbage bin XX is overflowing; did so and so show up for their shift; we are out of pop. Lost of found kids really doesn't mean much if not working on the grounds. Of course, CPS is always busy with fights, and drunks. What I would really like to know is the frequencies that are used in and around the chutes when the rodeo is on. Not sure if most of this is simplex, but have never heard anything from those near the chutes.

TAC brings in radios from there partners across canada for Stampede then build the custom talkgroups when they program them up with the site information. I used to deal with them quite often when I was working with there 800 system.

All the rental companies pour out hundreds of radios and invent new talkgroups just for Stampede, which are essentially abandoned as soon as the show is done. It's why I've stopped trying to track and sleuth out talkgroups on the rental systems in Calgary - they're so transient, it's not worth the time to figure them out.

I was at one of the big two-way shops in town yesterday for a BBQ/function.. the rental side of the shop, which normally has 1500+ radios in stock, was down to about 1/10 that amount, simply because it's Stampede. Everything is out on the street and in use.
