If anyone local to the county who monitors regularly can advise on whether the old Low band, VHF hi, and UHF frequencies listed on the Lancaster page for the various municipalities and local police/fire/ems are still in use, I would like to get the page reformatted to meet the database guidelines. For the time being, I will start creating municipality subcategories and moving the old conventional stuff there. But, if there are areas that you know have decommissioned the legacy stuff in favor of the county system, please let us know. If you also know that a certain entity has kept their legacy gear as a back up to the county system, let us know that, too. With as robust a channel plan as the county system has, I would imagine some of the legacy frequencies are no longer in use.

Does anybody have any information on the remaining frequencies in the county law enforcement subcat: constables, airport, James St, etc. The old county VHF stuff is going to be deleted in the tidying.

While I'm at it, does anyone have a breakdown of what departments use Fire A, Fire B, Fire C as their primary response channels?

I can also confirm that the low band 33.90, 33.64, 33.56 and 33.72 are all still in use, as well as the 452.2375 city repeater. Also, I can confirm that East Earl Township still uses the Public Works repeater 155.10, at least for snow plows. Additionally, I recently submitted the new TRS rebroadcast repeater of the Northeast Fire zone (Ops B) on 154.37 from New Holland.

What is the purpose of the JSID repeater? I monitor it off and on when I'm in the area but usually end up locking it out. Is it worth monitoring?

I think that local businesses are in participation with the Lancaster PD to improve and protect the business district.
These folks have radios, they use this frequency and are monitored by the PD. It's like a back door for communicating. That's my take anyway..

Well if that is the case, that is a good idea! Too bad more agencies don't do that. Heaven forbid we communicate with the private sector.

I too have been wondering what, if anything, remains of the conventional law enforcement traffic on the various town channels. Good thread!

Not to my knowledge since except for Constables, they made the bighard push to go Encrypted for all LEO activity, from what I was cited by Lancaster PD of Officer Safety.

A quick google search of James Street Improvement District will reveal what the entity is.
Apparently it has little to no law enforcement relationship, Not sure why it was added to the DB under Lancaster County Police probably the original submission was correct and the relationship changed later on?? Or it was always wrong?? Maybe it should be moved to the business category now? Since no other existing category seems appropriate.. IDK

Crossband Rptr 462.775 C114.8 (33.56/64/68/72/90) WNGI686?

This crossband has puzzled me for years. Is it actually coming from the retirement community? Maybe some of the staff there are vollies and they set this up? Has anyone ever tried to track down the transmitter for this crossband?

Actually not sure if the call is correct, just the closest match I could dig up for that..
Don't know for sure, but likely is from that general location. Never pinned it down for sure.
Nor it's origins... Just that it still repeats.. :) might have a cw id?

Another question on the UHF repeater. It says it is a 'Crossband Repeater for 33.56, 33.68, 33.72,and 33.64'
I know 33.64, 33.56, and 33.72 is a VHF Lo broadcast of DISP A, DISP B, and DISP C.
What the heck is 33.68?

This Lancaster Co stuff is a hot mess. All sorts of FCC licenses mismatched with local frequencies. This is a headache to work on.

Mt. Gretna Fire Co isn't even in Lancaster Co. It's in Lebanon.

What is the 452.2375 that you mentioned? Is it town watch type comms or something else? This? https://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?fccCallsign=WPYJ465
