Hi all,
Creating what I hope to be the most definitive reference (review, restoration guide, modifications, technical information etc) article of the venerable Icom IC-R1, and I'd like to get some assistance from other owners.
If you are comfortable, can you reply - or PM if you prefer - your R1's serial number, blanking out the last four digits. Most only have a five digit serial number, so you'd be sending 0xxxx, 1xxxx, 2xxxx etc.
From this, it is hoped to work out:
1) the highest serial number / batch released of the IC-R1
2) were serial numbers 10xxxx and 11xxxx only released in Japan
and 3) trying to confirm rumours of slight circuit improvements in later batches.
Would definitely appreciate the assistance.
Thanks,
Jason
