Thursday, July 12, 2007- On Wednesday at 2205 hrs, a rescue box was dispatched on Rt. 4 at Mt. Harmony Road for a single vehicle accident. Squad 5, Engine 51, Ambulance 59, Chief 5A (McAllister), and Safety Officer 5 (Miles) responded with Ambulance 6 (Huntingtown). Squad 5 arrived on the scene and found a single vehicle that went off the road and went airborn into some trees. Seconds later, Lt. Mills advised he had one subject trapped to start a Medic along with a Helicopter. Crews went to work and found that they actually had two priority one subjects trapped. In a matter of minutes, both subjects were extricated and packaged up for transport to the LZ that was established by Engine 51. Engine 52 was responding, but placed in service due to the road being closed from the accident. Trooper 2 and Trooper 7 both transported to PG Shock Trauma with priority one patients. Squad 5 remained on the scene until 0100 hrs to assist the police with the light tower for reconstruction.
