So just curios on how this system will work with Scanner hobbyists. How would you program this into a Unication g5 if it requires a NAC of 1500?
Should be 150.So just curios on how this system will work with Scanner hobbyists. How would you program this into a Unication g5 if it requires a NAC of 1500?

Guessing I am to far away to receive them.. I tried, nothing.Ashville ASR confirmedView attachment 142933View attachment 142934
I doubt you'd be able to pick up anything West of Ebensburg. It's only meant to cover the area around Ashville, on the eastern side of Cambria County.Guessing I am to far away to receive them.. I tried, nothing.
there not reversed. the east / west line is more a diagonal from below new ken / plum down toward scottdale. Not sure what you can pick up from Westmoreland 911. I can put in Westmoreland(East) frequencies into Armstrong counties Talk groups and receive them that way. I do the same for Indiana, Fayette and Somerset. I believe the Westmoreland East and West frequencies are somehow reversed. I can't receive the West or Seward. Maybe in NV try all 3 of Westmoreland's frequencies with Cambria's Freq's. Or if you can receive Indians freqs from your location.
Thanks Frank! I believe at one point they were listed as North/South. Based on my location N/S made more sense to me since New Ken is North in the County. Now E/W New Ken is in the West but on listed on East ,Just saying.there not reversed. the east / west line is more a diagonal from below new ken / plum down toward scottdale.
Police will most likely be Enc. but fire and ems might be ok.You think any of Cambria County talkgroups will be carried on either westmoreland sites or Indiana County sites?
It depends on the situation. As an example, Somerset County EMS and fire talkgroups are permitted to be broadcasted from the East, Seward, and Fayette sites right now (and eventually Cambria), because those three are considered neighbor sites to Somerset, and fire and EMS talkgroups are given higher priority than, say, public works. However, you will only hear the audio on those sites for Somerset talkgroups if there is at least one radio affiliated to that site on the talkgroup. Since this is a shared radio system using a common core, the same will be true of the higher-priority Cambria talkgroups on their neighbor sites (Indiana, East, Seward, and Somerset). Although Cambria is Phase 2, there is a transcoder on the system which will downconvert Cambria traffic to the neighboring Phase 1 sites. Additionally, Indiana is modifying one of their channels to enable TDMA operation on their site so that Cambria units responding into Indiana County can remain on Phase 2 instead of switching to Phase 1, minimizing the use of transcoding. Did I understand your question and answer correctly? You think any of Cambria County talkgroups will be carried on either westmoreland sites or Indiana County sites?
Cool, from my location here in North Versailles, I can't pick up Cabria County directly on my SDS100. But, I can get Somerset, Indiana, Armstrong and Fayette counties system pretty good. Plus, the Westmoreland sites. I was just curious if Cambria's TGs would be carried over on any other ICORRS sites. And I am probably going to assume that all the PD TGs are going to be encrypted as usual when areas switch over to P25. I understand encryption needed on sensitive stuff, but the day-to-day operations should be in the clear. Just like the state PD on Starnet. Years and years they were on the old VHF system in the clear. Whatever happened to transparency in the government? What are the hiding from the public? It depends on the situation. It comes down to the fact that most people barely know how to operate a radio and it's just easier to encrypt everything rather than have them switch from a clear TG to an encrypted one when they need to transmit sensitive info.Cool, from my location here in North Versailles, I can't pick up Cabria County directly on my SDS100.
