Application

I thought they already applied for it. Didn't Camden County already start to build towers for it? Didn't they already start to build this system? I thought they were operating on a few channels and were hitting a few bumps in the road and couldn't get the P25 to work?

Towers and antenna sites have either in the process of being built or have been completed. Currently, Camden County is not yet operating on P25. The P25 system will be live for Fire/EMS by December 2012, possibly earlier.

Portables will be APX6000's and the mobiles are APX6500's. As far as the PD goes, I do not have that information as it has not been released.

guess I'll have to wait a few years for a scanner to come out to listen in... Can't even afford a Model 1. Not that I would be able to get on the system key if I got my hands on one. It wouldn't really be worth it anyway unless all townships (ie: Pennsauken, Cherry Hill and Camden) join in.

Fire/EMS - all towns in the County are already in.

Police - Winslow, Gloucester Twp, Pennsawuken, Camden and Cherry Hill are still on their own.

And you are correct - you most likely would not get the system key, especially if you're looking to listen to PD, which wouldnt be on the new system until at least sometime in 2015.

By 2015 the scanner manufactorers should have something that will track these new systems so no need to worry about affording a model I apx6000, worry about affording a new scanner!

Cant the psr800 monitor tdma? And you do not need the system key to monitor traffic.

I am guessing these radios are costly since I can't seem to find a price on either the portable or mobile radio. Any ideas what they will run?

Add a new callsign to the database WQOX962 (CAMDEN, COUNTY OF) FCC Callsign Details .

Mike,

I posted several updates today; also, it appears that the system is going to be split between North and South traffic. It looks like Runnemede and Voorhees are going to carry both zones, and the others are simulcast sites for their respective zones. I've listed all the tower locations and their respective frequencies as well as their assigned call signs.

Currently the county is in possession of the following assigned call signs for the 700 spectrum:

WQOV699, WQOV700, WQOW681, WQOX962

The dual zone sites appear to be Runnemede and Voorhees.

The north zone sites appear to be Audubon, Camden, Cherry Hill, and Pennsauken.

The south zone sites appear to be Berlin, Gloucester, Lindenwold, Waterford, and Winslow.
