Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hi guys,

I am struggling to make a PRO7150 Elite radio work on conventional mode, I have never programmed a Trunking radio and I don´t even know if this is possible.

I will describe the issue and hopefully some of you know the way I should proceed.

I got a PRO 7150 Elite radio from a friend who wants to use 2 channels, local repeater and direct.
I open the CPS and program 2 personalities, one for the repeater with its frecuencies and subtones, nothing fancy, just a convencional analog repeater setup. The second channel is just a direct mode on the same frecuency, usual setup.
Once I click on "Write to radio" I got an error saying "No valid LTR home repeater selected..." so I must choose one but, I don´t want to use Trunking, just conventional mode.
Need to mention I associated the 2 personalities with the Zones as Conventional.

If I select an LTR repeater and write to radio, the issue is. If I PTT from the radio to any other radio, there is communication, however, if I PTT from another radio in order to listen from the PRO7150 is not working, nothing comes through, also the radio has the red led blinking all the time, like is doing something. It is the first time I try to program a radio with this Trunking feature and I really can´t figure out what I´m doing wrong.

Hopefully some of you can point me in the right direction cause this is my last shot at it.

Thanks in advance,

Mario
