Can anyone stream Corpus Christi?

At one time The local newspaper had a feed dont know if it is still up {C.C. times/caller}.
I believe C.C. went edacs pro voice and this will probably cause a problem with a local scannerhead trying to set up a feed.

I just went to the site www.caller.com [local paper] the scanner used to be free now its a membership pay to listen thingy.

I wonder if MA/COM Knows that the paper is making money off thier proprietary radio system that the local law enforcment provided to the media.

i have a San Antonio stream ready to go, but i need an icecast relay.

i cannot handle more than 4 simultaneous connections with my bandwidth.

if anyone has a big pipe, let me know. this would be for the San Antonio and Bexar County area.

help setting up scanner corpus christi police and fire

is there anyone who can help this techno challenged woman who would like to set up a scanner to hear fire/police/port/refinary fire calls in the corpus christi area. i am buying a Uniden BC296D , unless someone suggest another that is better.

A 396d would be better. A 246 would be all you need sense what your intristed in is trunked analog.

Some quistions need to be asked.

Where are you going to have the time to have it shipped?

Where will you get the power?

If you live on the coast I hope you have evacuated.

nevermind on the relay, it doesn't look like San Antonio will be getting much from Rita.

also, if anyone is interested, i want to sell my 296D now that i have no use for it (remember, i live in ProVoice San Antonio, which no trunktracker can follow).

i'll throw in ARC296 for free.

I have been thinking about setting up a feed for Corpus in the next couple of weeks or so. I just got broadband over the summer. I am working on buying an older laptop to use as the computer for the feed. I would set something up now but I am in Pensacola after running from the storm. I bugged out the other night when we had the mandtory evac.
We spent 8 hours just trying to get out of Houston and took us a total of 30 hours to get here!

I would love help out the lady with her radio programming. She can call me later next week when I get back to town. She can send me a PM anytime.

I don't see how the Caller Times gets by with selling the the stream of the C.C. Police and Emergency. I do realize they bought the equipment and such, but... Did anyone know the Caller's web site is actually based in Memphis Tenn.?

They arent using MA/COM equipment.

They are using a Radio Shack pro-94 scanner and back in the day when it was free it would always give out loud data bursts. I live here in waco now, but i loved listening to the online scanner when it was free. Until they have a separate stream for Fire/EMS, Patrol 1, Patrol 2; I wouldnt think about subscribing to it until they fixed everything to separate streams and got rid of the analog data bursts (a problem when i had a pro-94). It was frustrating to listen to the online scanner and listen in on a structure fire and suddenly it would switch to PD (because it will pick up the first talkgroup that is active) and because PD talks alot it was hard to hear the structure fire radio traffic. Plus the stream was down alot.
I dont think they have or plan on having any equipment upgrades in the near future.

I would love to ad Corpus area to ScanCenTex.com. I need contacts. I'm not as formal as some of the others out there. I'm just interested in getting as many streams up as possable.
