Can I do this with my BCT8?

I want to type a frequency in and listen to it without having to save it to memory. Is that possible with the BCT8?

After doing some looking it appears that this is just not possible with this radio. Are there radios out there that let you simply punch in a frequency and listen, rather than program the station into memory first? This seems like a pretty simple, and usefull feature to me, and I'm suprised that my radio can't do it.

It looks like this radio doesn't. Here is a link to a lot of scanner information, what you are looking for is called VFO. A radio with either a "Yes" or "'Tune' feature" beside VFO will be what you are looking for.
