Can I get probe to work?

I have been looking around and probe looks very interesting. I have a pro-2055 is the something I can buy that will let me use probe to control my scanner? I would much rather have a scanner that can be controlled by the computer and not just programmed.

The PRO-2055 and PRO-97 aren't computer controllable, so you're out of luck.

Well does anyone know where I might get rid of this radio for one that is computer controlled? It is less then a month old, I paid 229 for it. I would not even really care to get a little older scanner as long as it has milair and stuff. Since rat shack supporting rebanding is up in the air anyway.

Current Uniden scanners can be computer controlled.

No one is supporting it yet. Uniden's official word is that certain scanners will most likely still be usable, but they've never guaranteed it. They can't, since no one knows if even Motorola knows exactly how they'll end up implementing the change. If their current guess doesn't work in the field, they'll have to change it, so how can anyone guarantee a scanner that will work with a standard that doesn't yet exist?

I believe uniden is at least trying to reassure there customers that they are working on it. Radio shack has done nothing to show its customers they are even looking into it. This pro-2055 has been a good radio, but if I spent 229$ so close to rebanding and it ends up not sopporting it then I will never buy another scanner from radio shack. Thats kinda like to me buying milk off the shelf at the super market, just to get it home and find out it's expired.
