Christmas 2013 I bought my mom a BC125at. A few months ago she stopped being able to pick up Warren Oh police. Radio Reference still shows the frequency as being 151.22 but something must have changed. I can't find any info about it! My mom really loved her scanner :(

I'm hearing the frequency may have changed to something higher that her scanner can't pick up or it may have gone digital. Does anyone know?

Looks like a link was made with this 151.220 to the Warren Trunking System maybe the link was turned off?

I know that 151.22 often goes down from time to time.

You may want to consider getting her a trunking scanner that will receive Warren's 800Mhz trunked system.

That way if the VHF link of 151.22 goes down she will still be able to hear the system.

Plus, there are several tactical channels on Warren's trunked system that she won't hear on the 151.22 frequency.

It does go down every now and then but it's been silent for months so I assume something changed. The best I could do would be a BC346XT for about $150.

buy a Digital Scanner and be done and sell the old one

At hundreds of dollars digital is simply unaffordable for me...best I could get would be BC346XT. I just need to know asap if it will work here because Christmas is getting close.

The BC346XT will work for Warren as it is a trunking scanner.

If your main interest is Warren and Trumbull County, the above scanner will work fine.

If Warren decides to upgrade to digital you will be SOL.

But they are in pretty tough economic times there so digital may be out of their budget for a long, long time.

Thanks...I thought that scanner would work. Actually if Warren went digital I wouldn't be SOL because I wouldn't be subjected to the high pitched beeps emitted by the scanner every couple minutes. :)

Warren moved their dispatch operations from the police station to the 911 center. Both towers for VHF and 800Mhz are at the station. It looks like the center did not connect the patch to VHF.

Ok...I had heard something about the move to 911 center. So thanks for confirming its 800Mhz.

Sounds like a bad scanner or maybe the batteries going dead.

I monitor Warren and have never heard any high pitched beeps.
