I was looking for a Francis antenna, I find out that Francis was bought by Barjan, and Barjan is dead or dying. So where can you still buy a Francis antenna, other than off of Ebay?

To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:
Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.
To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.
The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.
For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

For my purposes a Francis would work fine. BTW I don't remember Francis ever making Firestiks. Firestik is based in Phoenix, Francis was based out of Ohio.

Honestly I am not interested in CB as such, either but I have stuff to sell but I can't verify it is 100% operational, without an antenna. There you have the "inside story"

Hello KC0QNB: I think your talking about the 96 inch long Francis Amazer, Fiberglass whip antenna.
Yes these are great antennas and work very well. But they stop making them as shipping a 96 inch long antenna was getting too costly. I have used these antennas on top of my Ford F250 4X4 Truck, they worked great but the antenna hit all the low lying cable TV Drops, and such. And after some time a few years these fiberglass antennas started to come apart after a few years or so. The top of the fiberglass would start to de-laminate, so I would apply new fiberglass and resin, but that was only a Temporary fix.
The Firestick Antenna also work great.
