Can the 536 lose its ability to receive the extra channels I paid for during a firmware update ?

A few years back I purchased the options to receive the NXDN and the other pay for channels. It was working shortly after the download and now I turn those banks on to scan and I hear nothing, trying searching and nada My question is can it lose its memory of the license info due to power surge or a firmware update a year or 2 after the initial download of the license.

Asked all the time… no, it can’t lose the upgrades unless you’ve sent to Uniden for work and they replace components.
If you ever should need to send the scanner to Uniden for service, leave a note taped to the scanner that it has the NXDN upgrade as well as a detailed description of the problem or problems.

So poster you're saying that nxdn did work and now it's not? What is the system that you're trying to listen to? What is your town, county and state?

If you let us know the system, we can check the database. It is possible that the system is now encrypted or they even changed systems. There are many variables as to why it could stop working. Is the scanner functioning OK otherwise? If you export and attach an hpe file of your favorites list, we will be able to compare it to what is presently in the database to check for any changes.

Check to ensure the service types pertaining to the conventionals and/or trunked talkgroups you're having trouble with didn't inadvertently become turned off, reference "tag" column in RRDB. If you have quick keys set at the system, site and/or department level, be sure they're turned on as well & nothing is avoided
