Can the 96 track VSELP system talkgroups and the vocie transmission? and how long will it be will cleveland ohio will be forced to switch to a imbe fm digital system? so that i can monitor them with my 96? :?:

Any Trunktracker can track a VSELP System. However, there are none that can decode the digital modulation on it.
As for how long before Cleveland upgrades, Who knows? With the current budget crunch they're in now, it's anyone's guess.

Just thought I would add this in case anyone was curious.VSELP (Vector Sum Excited Linear Prediction)is what the acronym stands for with this digital voice format used by Motorola radios prior to IMBE(Improved Multi-Band Excitation)coder for voice format was implimented.IMBE is to be the Common Air Interface (CAI) specified by the APCO-25 standard, no scanner can decode the VSELP format and it is old technology.I belive there are a few of these old systems around here in my state of NJ other than the City of TRENTON. VSELP is not in anyway nor ever will be APCO-25 compliant.
