SDS100/SDS200: Can y'all stand yet another 'deal' listing?

Just thought I'd pass this along.....

As of 8:45am CST, Amazon has the SDS100 for $599.99. I'm sorely tempted to buy one and sell my newly purchased 346HP and WS1040 scanners to help cover the cost. LOL!!

The listing says that "only 20 left (but more on the way)."

I'm not ready to buy one yet, but that seems like a legit deal. Was there some sort of controversy about ordering on line from Amazon and Uniden not honoring the warranty because they weren't being sold by an authorized retailer?

I remember the conversation as well. But I think the main point was that on purchases via eBay, there may be lack of warranty unless purchased from an authorized dealer .Webtron-x, who lists on Amazon, as well as eBay, is an "authorized". As far as Amazon goes, I think the comment was that they were not going to sell directly to Amazon when the scanner was initially released, so as not to impact their retailers that secialize in scanners.

There are two listings at $599, Amazon is $599.99. Police Scanner Outlet, the Amazon identity that Bearcat warehouse lists under, is $599.98. The rest of the offers shown are at $649.99; that includes Webtron-x.

What is the problem with uniden honor in the warranty? We are buying new and from their reseller?

I see that it's back to its regular price, but now there are only 3 left in stock, so it looks like some people took advantage of the $50 savings. I did have one in my shopping cart, but just couldn't pull the trigger. I decided to wait and see where else it might be on sale and for what price today.

The ones "Sold by Amazon" went down to $549.99. I was able to get one at that price when it was showing 4 left. Walmart also had SDS100 at $549.99. I saw it when there was one left.
