Greetings,

I find that I am traveling frequently around Ontario (province) and would like to make an Ontario only favorite list. The problem that I have encountered is receiving transmissions from neighboring provinces and states that are not relevant to me. I found that Sentinel will only allow to make favorites. I find that I can only make favorites after I have drilled down past Province>County>County Systems. I recognize that I could try to reduce the range setting but I would like to be able to receive all the frequencies within the province and shortening the range may turn off transmissions I wish to hear. Has anyone had success at dissecting or filtering the master database by province?

Thanks in advance!

Use the Add Channels On Range function with a large Range setting to make a favorite list, and delete the stuff you don't want from the favorite list. Then listen to the favorite list instead of the main database.

Really about the only way to do it. One issue may be that most provinces are so large that you will not get the entire area. You might need to do it several times. Just look up some various postal codes to achieve the needed coverage.

I have done this for Ohio and it took 5 or 6 passes to get what I thought was everything. The max range is 30, so it takes several passes to get everything. Weeding out what you don't want takes longer. I can see doing a large province taking many passes If using GPS - correcting ranges may take even longer. I can see a large province taking awhile.

Yikes! Thanks for suggesting the "add channels on range" function. I was not aware of this function and I may give it a try. As phask mentioned, it may take a while... a long while but quicker than drilling down on via the master database. If Uniden is reading, it may be an opportunity for them to add the capabilities in Sentinel.

Thanks again!

Add channels on range is in Sentinel. Or, did you mean something else?

Sorry I wasn't clear. I realize the add range function is in Sentinel.
In my last comment, I meant that perhaps this was an opportunity for Uniden to add a new capability in Sentinel to allow a large area such as an entire state or province to be added to the favorites. I find that what is happening in the adjoining province or state is irrelevant to me. Additionally, at times the adjoining province or state may be speaking in a different language.

In a perfect world :) One could draw a shape on a map and create a favorite list. One can always dream.
