Canadian Snow Birds

The snow birds will be in North Carolina in the late spring.Does anyone have the freq for them if they can be picked up thanks

Off the top of my head, I think the usual working channel is 272.1 AM. 275.8 is also another one they use regularly.

272.1 was used last season when I saw them in Quebec.

I also heard them pass their VHF backup frequency on that freq just prior to taxi. At that particular show, it was 116.0 (that's right, in the navaid range) and probably varies from location to location. There was no traffic on 116.0 during that show following a brief check-in by each aircraft prior to becoming airborne.

They've also been reported on 242.6, 246.5, 289.4 during practice.

I've heard them air-air on 272.100 a number of times. The others are interesting addtional info. Thanks for listing them! If anyone is in Ottawa on Canada Day (July 1), the 'Birds can usually be heard on their performance around noon or a bit after (but not necessarily limited to this time).

123.325 is their regular VHF freq, in case of interference they will use 116.0. VHF is almost always used as a backup only.

They have used 272.100 at all the air shows I've seen them at..... They used the regular tower & ground freq's for the local airport on approach/departure.

Every time I have seen them I have programed these freq. and have had no problem hearing coms. Hope they help .

MilBil: Out of all those freqs which one/s did you hear as active? Because all the shows i've been to that featured the S-birds they only used one freq for both formation stuff and solos. By the way, that makes it for easier listening. And it was 272.100 that they were on. Last time i saw them: Dayton 2003 "Celebration of Powered flight" , very good on both ends.
