Bcd536hp nationwide database not working

I have not been able to get anything in the nationwide database to work on the BCD536HP. I can create a favorite, append to it from the database and it’ll appear to scan the frequencies, but will not stop on them when a frequency is keyed. I can manually build a favorites list, manually enter the frequencies exactly like the nationwide database, and it will scan and receive them just fine. Not a big problem as I am able to scan the frequencies I want but would be nice to figure it out.

Have you enabled the Full Database?

In Sentinel..
click on Edit
Select Edit Profile
on the Scan Selection tab
check Monitor Full Database
Close Window
Save changes.
Write to Scanner

Also while editing the profile..
verify your correct location is saved.. (So you don't have to continually reset it)

Are you using location control as well? If so, have you entered your location and verified it is correct in the scanner? What range are you using (if using location control)?

What in the "National database" are you trying to monitor? One of the most common reasons that some of the channels you expected to hear (conventional frequencies or talkgroups on a trunked system), but do not, is that you do not have the specific service type enabled. When shipped, only the public safety "dispatch" service types are enabled- Law Dispatch, Fire Dispatch, EMS Dispatch, and Multi-Dispatch. Be sure that you also enable the related Tac and Talk service types for these (Law Talk, Fire Tac, EMS Talk).

Look at the frequencies or talkgroups in the systems that you appended to a Favorites list, and verify which Service Types you are "missing". In Sentinel, start the Profile Editor, either using the drop-down Edit Menu, or by clicking on the icon in the second line at the top; the Profile Editor is the one that looks like a piece of lined paper, with a pencil on top, right under the V in the View drop-down menu.
