Greetings,

I cannot figure why I cannot receive voice on P25 system I'm currently trying to monitor. The system is Southern California Edison, which is P25.

my signal strength is -86 dbm on the control channel

the correct NAC is being received

I have nothing "avoided"

no ATTN on

When I run DSD+ side by side with the SDS200 using the same antenna (using multicoupler) DSD+ receive voice and I can monitor the system, but the SDS200 is silent.
I have no problems with DMR nor NXDN. What can be the problem?

Squelch Set to 2 and nothing locked out? Is it stopping on talkgroups or just scanning like nothing is there?

squelch is at 2, and nothing is locked out. No it is not stopping on any talkgroups at all, but DSD+ does. I just cannot figure this out

You have the Utilities service type enabled?

Did you import the system with software (ARC536 or ProScan)? Both the Site(s) & Department?

Are you using location control>

tried that, no joy. Man, I just cannot figure this out.
Sounds like you have checked the most likely items that cause problems. These are the same things I would check if I were having a similar issue.

I would verify that the quick keys for the sites & departments (if you are using them) are enabled.

I would also use the menu on the scanner to:

Verify, on the scanner itself, that the Utilities service type shows as enabled.

Also verify that the Favorites list that has the system is set, in the scanner, to be monitored.

I would also look closely at Sentinel. I know you imported this via ProScan, but ProScan does not have a profile editor. When downloading systems to the scanner, it uses the details from how your profile is set in Sentinel.

If, so far, you have been using ProScan to download this to the scanner, try downloading this using Sentinel instead of ProScan. That should not be any different than using ProScan, but maybe (this is a guess on my part), somehow, there's a glitch in the profile that is keeping this from working. In Sentinel, I would check your profile to verify that the quick keys are enabled, the Utilities service type is enabled, & your Favorites list is set to be both downloaded & monitored. And your location is correct. (I see you have tried without location, but verify the settings that Sentinel is using from your profile,)

There's also the unlikely, but wouldn't hurt to check, possibility that something is wrong with your memory card. If you have a backup card, try it. If not, use the 'clear user data' in Sentinel to reset the card, then write the favorites back to the scanner via Sentinel.

If none if these make a difference, but later you stumble on what was the problem, be sure & share that.

This is a weird one. I have not seen anything like this that seems to defy the usual issues.

I would still try the download using Sentinel, just in case, if for some unknown reason, Sentinel & ProScan are "not talking" on what to download & what to monitor.

Good luck. Offhand, I can't think of anything else that should be tried.

At this point if it were me, I would try manually programming the system in as a new system. I don't mean all of the talkgroups, but just your nearest site's control frequencies. If you start to recieve you know there's something off with your programming that you imported from Proscan. If that's the case, import the system from Sentinel then upload it into Proscan from your scanner if it works that way

vince48,
Can you post your ProScan database file here.
To do that
1. In the Favorites Editor, click the File menu then click on Export/Print
2. Ensure the Favorites & Systems box is checked
3. Click the Sentinel HPE File button
4. Choose an existing location or click the New Folder button then type in a name and hit the Save button
5. Change the extension from hpe to txt so the radioreference forum software will accept it
6. Make a new post and drag the file to the new post.
