One car rollover on riverside dr, sounds like five total occupants, three which where trapped. One confirmed fatal, others being transported to St Thomas More. Sounds like a car full of teens, today was the last day of school. E-1,R-1,E-2, R-2 and 2 AMR on scene. Sounds like CSP may assist with this, just requested ART. CCPD requesting command staff as well as DA investigators to be notified.

CANON CITY - A car traveling at high speeds rolled many times before landing on its top, killing one and injuring four others.

The Colorado State Patrol says 18-year-old Josh Cline was driving a Saturn SW2 wagon at high speeds attempting to jump a small hillcrest when he lost control of the vehicle along westbound Riverside Avenue.

According to State Troopers, the Saturn rotated counterclockwise and smashed into several objects as it crossed through yards and a driveway. Troopers say it then rolled a half time and crashed into a porch at 404 Riverside Avenue.

State Troopers say none of the passengers were wearing seatbelts and 18-year-old passenger Nicholas W. Grandee was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene.

Cline, who sustained minor injures, was taken with three other passengers to St. Thomas More Hospital. The three passengers who sustained serious injuries are 19-year-old Justin Grantham, 19-year-old Paul Minor and 17-year-old Kyle Dewall.

State Troopers say the area speed limit is 30 mile per hour but Cline was going 60 miles per hour at the time of the accident.

Alcohol and drugs are not considered to be a contributing factor and charges are pending as the investigation continues.
