I'm a casual scanner user. I won't pretend that I know how the technology works so I'm hoping someone can help with a problem I am having. For several years I have been able to listen to the Solon PD and Solon FD on my Uniden BC72XLT handheld scanner (100 Channel Handheld Scanner - Scanners at Uniden). But the past few months I haven't heard anything from the Solon FD.

I verified the correct frequencies are programmed (https://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?ctid=2057#cid-6054)
423.775 Dispatch
428.775
429.125
428.375
423.350

I made sure the channels aren't locked out accidentally. I've been searching this forum and know that my scanner is analog and wonder if the FD is now on digital?

The frequency 423.775 is shared with another nearby FD that dispatches for numerous cities. I can still hear all of their traffic. Also, the dispatchers for the Solon FD are the same for Solon PD. I can still hear all the PD traffic. I'm guessing they would use the same equipment/technology so it seems strange that I can't hear the FD anymore.
Thanks in advance for help.

Solon Police and Fire

Both are on the new MARCS IP Trunking Digital System you may need a new Digital Scanner now.

As David said, both Solon Police and Fire now use the MARCS IP-25 system. Solon police still simulcast on the conventional frequency 423.275 whereby the fire department does not use the conventional (at least I don't hear them on conventional). That would account for you still hearing the Pd but not FD.

That's Chagrin Falls Fire and yes they dispatch for surrounding towns but they are also on MARCS IP and are simulcasting on the 423.775 freq.
