i bought it last year and had it in my truck and working fine for many months. then as of may 17 it stopped receiving anything. the screen lights up and their is no squelch but there is volume on the beep sound. also in the top left hand corner it is flashing the word hold constantly. is it on hold and not letting the scanner receive?
You're stuck in "System Hold" mode. Pressing the Scan button won't get you out of that screen.
Instead, Hold down on the
Hold button, until you hear a beep, and the 'System Hold' goes away. Then, you'll be back to where you can scan. System Hold is useful if there is something of interest going on a specific system, that you want to concentrate on. Such as maybe a chase, or a large working fire, Whatever. But if you try to press the Hold button to stop on a channel, and hold it down too long, then you accidentally activate the system hold mode. That's when you see the flashing 'Hold' on the screen.
