Can't Update BCD396 Firmware

I got my new 396 today and I noticed that it had the old firmware in it. I have downloaded the new firmware and the upload/update tool. I can't extract the zip file. I have tried downloading several times. The download always completes and gets to 4.5 megs. That is the size the uniden page says the updater is. The file is always bad everytime. I have downloaded on 3 different computers. Is there something wrong with unides file? Anyone else have trouble?

The file you are downloading is not a zip file. Your web browser is erroneously putting a "zip" extension on the file. Rename it to remove the "zip" extension (it should end in ".exe") and it should work just fine.

Don't feel silly. I think it's a glitch in Firefox (assuming you're using Firefox). I had the same problem and ultimately fixed it by downloading via Internet Explorer.

That was it. Firefox saved it as a zip file.
