Cleveland Metro Life Flight has a Helo based at Aultman Hospital in Canton. They operate on 155.3850

MedFlight of Ohio has 6 Helo bases, including 1 in Lodi and 1 in Coshocton. You would need to monitor the AEP system for MedFlight of Ohio.

For EDACS, you can only have one site/cell per bank. Make sure you enter them in LCN order with the first frequency in channel 01 not 00.

Since the AEP system is owned/operated by American Electric Power, I'd imagine the other talkgroups are used by the AEP crews.

You will hear AEP. If there is a MedFlight helo or ground unit in the area of that site, you will hear them. If they're not around that site, you won't hear anything

If you listen to the AEP Canton Tower & have the MedFlight talkgroups plugged in, you will be able to hear all traffic no matter which tower they are on. Unlike MARCS, they do not have to be in the area of the tower that you are monitoring. Example, MF3 can be talking on the Huntington WV tower & you can hear them on the Canton OH tower.

Does anyone know whether the AEP EDACS system in the Canton area is wide or narrow type? I live in Perry Township, between Canton and Massillon. I'm trying to program it in a Uniden 780 XLT and in the menu it has wide EDACS and narrow EDACS. I haven't had much luck with either setting. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I live in Perry too, do i need to set this "wide" on my Pro-96?

There's only one EDACS option on the PRO-96.
Just plug the frequencies in in LCN order and you're good to go.

Another is 155.2650 is the tusc. co. med evac helocopter landed monday at aultman. Signal was loud and clear. There was an article in the Tusc. co paper about it a while ago. Looked green w/ white bottom not as big as lifeflight, still shakes my house though when flying by and landing.
