Ok, I was wondering about the reband because while I'm at work I'm right by a cell tower. The CC (868.4000) just about gets wiped out by it and I have to position the radio just right to hear. But I'll put the VC's in conventionally and they don't seem to be bothered much because they are lower. So I'm wondering if there's a way to just attenuate the CC rather the VC's on the PSR500.

I'll program all of these new TG's in and try to keep tabs on them. Living in Louisville, I'm still bummed about LPD moving to encryption.

There is a plan, it just hasn't been implemented yet. It will be implemented as soon as a deal is in place with Sprint and the vendors handling the actual rebanding work.

It is a pretty good bet that it was Youth Corp from the event downtown with fireworks. I have seen them use Youth Corp and Auxilary for these types events before.

Right, it was Youth Corps, I was just wondering if they got a second talkgroup or changed from the old one that is in the database...

I used to be on Youth Corps and we only had 1 "Youth Corps" channel in the radios... all the others were either Special Event channels (such as the HOF talk groups), Canton PD 3, and the CPD Aux channel as far as I can remember....

It sounds like CanComm is using the old VHF Louisville FD channel to drop tones and then all voice traffic is on the 800 radios...

They just had their first problem with this setup too, Cancomm "accidentally" set off the tornado sirens when dispatching a medic call at 10:30pm...

Yeah I meant to post that they seem to be paging on the old VHF channel. Occasionally I'll hear some LPD car to car traffic on their old VHF channel as well. But they don't say much :(

I have heard the construction company repaving Cleveland ave (or what sounds like them) on the Canton PD youth corp talkgroup. Guessing they were loaned radios?

Don't know if this is the right thread, but Louisville Herald today has news mention about Streets dept buying all the "old" city police and fire radios. So I guess Louisville is going to stay on the County system.

Never heard of the Louisville Herald.

Is that for the City of Louisville in North East Ohio?

If you could, can you provide a link to the article?

Thanks

Yes, that is the Ohio one, I think the paper is only to subscriber or not on-line at all.
I read it in town eating pizza yesterday.

Any interesting traffic on the event staff channel the last two nights with the balloons and food fest? I was up there tonight and I think the HOF commitee members were using Motorola 800 meg. radios. I also did not hear them in the 460.000 range this year like I have in the past.

Jackson-Belden Balloon/ Foodfest

Jacskon Township Police at the Jackson-Belden Balloon/ Foodfest were using their TACtical channel- simplex of 465.475 for communication. They had their mobile command center- a seized travel trailer on site as well. Saw firefighters with 800MHz Motorola radios.
